Do you sell plants to the public?
No, we are not a retail nursery. We only sell to the wholesale trade. Contact us if you would like to find a retail nursery in your area that carries our plants


What is a liner?
A liner is a 1 1/2” plug. There are 12 liners per pack and 96 per flat (8 packs per flat). Liners usually require one full growing season to fill out a one gallon container. If planted in spring, they should be ready for retail sales the following season after growing throughout the summer and overwintering. From July on, transplant liners into 3” pots and after six weeks step up into 1-gallon pots. Or liners can fill out a quart size pot in 3 - 4 months.


What is a Retail Ready Hosta?
The Retail Ready Hosta is a 4” extra deep pot. It is equivalent to a quart size pot. This size is great for immediate sales or ready for direct installation. This size can also be transplanted into a one gallon or larger container and sold later on when ready.


What is the minimum order for liners?
Liners are shipped 12 liners per pack and 96 per flat (8 packs per flat). Minimum order for liners is one 12 pack of liners of the same cultivar.


What is the minimum order for Retail Ready 4” pots?
The 4” Retail Ready pots are shipped in trays holding 18 plants. Minimum order is one tray of 18 pots; you may mix or match up to 18 cultivars within a tray.

 

How much do your hosta liners and 4” pots cost?
Prices and sizes are listed next to each plant listing in the catalog or on our on-line price list. Prices listed are cost per plant.


How many flats can you fit in a box?
Retail Ready 4” Pots are shipped one flat per box. Up to three liner flats are shipped per box, depending on the size of foliage at time of shipping.


How do you ship?
All orders are shipped F.O.B., Rochelle, Illinois. UPS ground service has proven best for most areas of the country. UPS three day air saver, second day air and next day air is also available. Federal Express is available upon request.


Where do you ship?
We ship throughout the United States, Canada and overseas.


How much does shipping and handling cost?
Shipping charges are UPS rates, which vary depending on the weight of the package(s) and destination. We can give you an approximate freight estimate prior to shipping. We do charge a handling fee of $3.00 per box to cover the cost of packing materials.


How can I pay for my order?
Customers can pay for their order by sending a check or money order prior to the ship date, or by using a credit card (Visa or MasterCard). To establish an account, please fill out a credit application, by printing a copy off this web site and mailing or faxing it to us. Our standard terms are net 30 days. A 2% per month finance charge will be added to accounts over 30 days. Also, please supply us with your state resale tax number to avoid being charged tax.


When is it the best time to order?
You may place an order any time for shipping later on. We recommend you place your order as early as possible, so you have a greater chance of receiving the hosta when you request it.


If I place my order today, when will you ship it?
During the shipping season, we generally ship out orders the same week or by the following week. Our shipping season normally starts in March and continues through the early fall. Additionally, ship dates can be specified by a customer.


How long will it take to receive my order?
We ship on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so you receive your shipment by Friday of the same week.


How can I check your current availability?
Contact us to receive our availability verbally or we can fax you our complete availability. You can also check our current availability online on our web site.


How can I place an order?
Orders can placed by phone on our toll-free line (800-528-2909), through our regular number (815-562-3010), by fax (815-562-7488), by mail, by e-mailing your order to sales@qandznursery.com or by ordering on-line on our web site.


Can I pick up my order and visit your nursery?
We cordially invite our wholesale customers to visit our facilities in Rochelle. Our greenhouses are located in north-central Illinois, about 90 miles west of Chicago. Please make an appointment before visiting or picking up orders.


Do you sell tags?
Yes, photo tags are available for most of the cultivars we sell at $0.15 each. Contact us for the complete list.


Can I purchase The Hosta Handbook by Mark R. Zilis from you?
Sorry, The Hosta Handbook is out of print and no longer available. Watch for Mark Zilis' new book on hostas coming soon.
